Vintage Butterfly Wing Nudes

Butterfly Wing art from Europe dates to the 1920’s, however many cultures have used butterfly wings as art throughout history.  The first 2 photos show the original art form.  The vintage nudes, from the Art Deco era, show a new style using butterfly wings, dried flower petals y even snake skins as a form of decoration. Some use nothing and are mounted on copper or other materials. The technique is time consuming and involves copper, beveled glass, patina and up to 3 types of solder, plus the material used to decorate.

NO endangered species have been used. wings have been recycled.
